Laura Young is an emerging children’s illustrator, based in the beautiful coastal city of Geelong. They identify as nonbinary and their preferred pronouns are she/they. Laura adores creating characters with personality; both human and animal. They work traditionally and digitally to produce unique pieces of art which appeal to children and adults alike.

In their spare time, Laura continues creating. They enjoy building items from upcycled timber, such as a cubby house and mud kitchen for her children, along with building Lego with her children or partner. Laura will also take the chance to sneak down to one of the local beaches with their family whenever they can.

Laura also works as a child counsellor, two days per week, in a primary school. They find the combination of wellbeing and illustrating work allows for an excellent balance.
